dear aurora community,
at aurora, your support is our sunrise. the community that is built around this journal is what keeps us going every morning. we recognize that we are so lucky to have such a loving, supportive community with us. therefore, we want to be fully open and transparent with our community exactly what your support does for us.
by following us on social media, you help us to:
- grow our online presence so we can amplify the amazing work of talented womxn writers and artists to greater audiences
- stay connected with our community on releases of new issues, opening of submission periods, and other exciting news
by donating to us, you help us to:
- keep our website running on WordPress, which has two costs associated with it (one for our domain and one for the premium plan of WordPress)
- pay for programs such as Adobe InDesign that we use to create the journal’s digital issues and other graphics for the website
we also have one ambitious longer-term goal that requires financial backing that we are hoping to achieve in the future: being able to pay our contributors and staff for their hard work. this is a lot more complicated, but it is something that we hope to look into and figure out as we continue growing as a journal. although we recognize that this is one tough goal and we are still a small literary journal, we will keep trucking along as best as we can to try to get there. following us on social media to help us grow our community and donating are small stepping stones in this long process. please recognize that most of the costs of running this journal and its platforms come out of our own pockets, which is why we are so immensely appreciative of your support as a community.
we are eternally grateful for everything that you do for aurora and we promise that we are not taking it for granted. every ounce of support, no matter how small, means the world to us and will not be overlooked! we will continue working hard as a creative journal to champion the voices of womxn writers and artists and become a platform that this community can be proud of. thank you for believing in aurora.
